The Social Impact Team (SIT), established in 2023 with the renewal of the Property Based Improvement District (PBID) and its boundary expansion, is an outreach program serving Downtown San Jose. Operating seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., SIT engages with the vulnerable unsheltered population, focusing on building trust and connecting individuals with City and County outreach service providers.
The team also provides support through:
Care kits
Clothing donations
Assistance with identification needs
Downtown businesses and residents can report unhoused-related concerns or request wellness checks by:
